Homeschoolers have fun learning about butterflies

We had a terrific time at Mott's Run Reservoir in Fredericksburg, VA on Friday at Nature Days! Nature Days is a terrific way to incorporate fun, hands-on science activities, and time with great friends. Caden was very proud of his butterfly specimen captured by net. Jameson loved the baby fowler's toads and getting muddy. Check out the toes above. Caleb had a great time too! He loves anything outdoors. They are all so excited to now be proud adoptive parents to 3 painted lady butterfly larva...uh, caterpillars: Foofoo, Darth, and Luke. Can't wait for the butterflies to emerge! Here's a link to a worksheet all about the painted lady butterfly for those of you studying along with us.
